The Firm expands to Media City thanks to commission with The BBC

The Firm has extended their musical reach thanks to a commission with media giant and one of the country’s top broadcasters – the BBC.


Having secured a commission with the broadcaster in Salford to compose the theme for new daytime series, ‘Sister Rita to The Rescue’, The Firm has seen its business expanded into Manchester’s famous Media City.


Dalit Lauren, Company Director, who secured the commission in 2015 said: “We are always looking at ways to expand the business and to work directly with the BBC is great achievement for us collectively at The Firm.” A big daytime success, ‘Sister Rita to the Rescue’ pulled in an impressive average audience of 1.3million per episode. “We are of course also delighted to have been a part of a programme that has been received so well,” she continued.


The theme impressively captures both the character of Sister Rita using playful pizzicato strings and marimba, as well incorporating chorale textures with the use of church choir to reflect her caring nature which runs through the heart of the programme. With the serious content of the show, however, a grittier feel was added to the piece with the use of modern beats and synths.


News of the commission comes after a successful year for the music group, with 2015 having seen such credits as The Magic Show Story (ITV), Love It or List It (Channel 4), Homes by The Sea (Channel 4) and commercials for Kleenex, Asda, Stena Line and Bupa.
