The Firm has received a nomination from the prestigious Royal Television Society Yorkshire Awards! The nomination is in the Best Music category for Planet Dinosaur Files, the ground breaking and high profile six part CBBC series, bringing to life a new and terrifying world of Dinosaurs.
The captivating soundtrack was a collaboration within The Firm’s music team; composed and produced by Bob Bradley (Company Director) with contributions from Matt Sanchez, Nick McEnally, Steve Dymond and Thomas Balmforth, who recently joined the team from Leeds College of Music. They created a Hollywood-esque soundtrack, evoking the colossal strength and size of the beasts, complimenting the impressive cutting edge CGI animation, whilst appealing to a younger audience.
Planet Dinosaur Files was broadcast on CBBC earlier this year. Watch a clip to hear the theme and see what you think:
It’s not the first time The Firm has been recognised for its work by RTS Yorkshire, with previous nominations and awards for music on programmes including: The Cosmos – A Beginners Guide (BBC 2 ), Killer in the Family (C&I network) , Ground War (Nat Geo), and Dick and Dom Go Wild (CBBC).
The awards will be announced at a ceremony on 11 June 2012 at The Queens Hotel In Leeds. It’s a high profile category, with other nominations including Frankenstein’s Wedding….Live In Leeds (BBC Wales / BBC North) and King George & Queen Mary – The Royals That Saved The Monarchy (BBC 2), so wish us luck!
